Hi Can anyone help me get my E-vox up and running-I cant get to run dnupman and as for browse and what is meant by this-nothing comes up except invalid firmware tks in advance P
Download the Eurovox Guide from the link marked Eamos FTA Library at the bottom of my post. You will find it in the Eurovox Documentation Folder, sorry thats all the help I can offer.
Thanks -but its those instructions that I cant follow. I keep getting the following when i go to install-invalid firmware. P
back with more questions Do i need to burn a cd-the instructions refers to a flash program from the cd? Do i need to be able to open .bin files If so where do i get a programme that allows me to open .bin files? Sorry for all the questions but this is like being back in school for me-I normally get these type of things easy enough P
No problem. You do not need to burn anything to a CD, as you can download all you need here. I just need to know what year/version you have.
i am willing to go either way-whichever is the easiest-I suppose! At this stage I am determined to crack the firmware route
OK, you will find all you need in the link at the end of my post marked Eamos FTA Library. 1. Click the link. 2. Click Eurovox. 3. Click Eurovox Software and download Dnupman, (Creat a folder on your desktop and save to there). 4. Click back, then click Eurovox Firmware, download max firmware to same folder on your desktop. 5. Unzip both files in the folder. 6. Follow the Eurovox Guide that you have this will show you how to flash the Eurovox.
Tks Scouser when the files are unzipped what should I see? I am still getting invalid firmware and when the dnupman path is in the browse field the other file is a .bin and I cannot open it-what programme do I need to open this? DoH!
I think we are running out of time for tonight -frustrating for me. Null modem cable connected. Very frustrating. Have you tried to do this tonight? Getting up the invalid file is key to the this. Ther e is no need ot browse as it goes in automatically. When I try to do it by browse it wont let me-says cant find folder. I have tried this on two pc's and the same on both-either its me or there is a corrupt file somewhere-have you managed to do this recently? is this a corect path and file name?Desktop\eurovox\DnUpMan\DnUpMan_DVBC_FAV8_20060314\DnUpMan_DVBC_FAV8_20060314.exe What of the bin file in the other part and how do I open ? P
Yep running out of time alright. Dnupman is the loader, The firmware is the bin file, that is where you are going wrong, come back on tomorrow and either me or someone will sort you out. It is quite a simple process once grasped and it wont take you long to have your box up and running, so dont worry.
Hi Celtic and scouser, i am happier to take the help here-I had posted in another thead but started this thread with specific getting started thread as I was getting no info there. Sorry for duplication. I am just confused at this stage between .bin file -and not being able to open them-and not knowing what application will help me. Then the invalid file message when i try to run dnupman as per the Eurovox instructions-obviously doing something wrong but cant figure it out. As for voxer -is it a better way to do this-I have not tryed it. Tks in advance
When connect the Eurovox to you pc , run the Dnupman softwa*e in the browse path locate the .bin file you also downloaded and follow the instructions from there
Tks for help Celtic I am obviously not doing something right- I will outline what I am doing Downloading the file form the softwre folder-saving it to desk top downloading the file from the firmw folder -daving it to derktop Running the dnupman-by double clicking the icon in the folder-brngs me to the dialogue box shown in the instr manual-file path appears in the corect field -and invalid file in the field underneath. If I try to browse for it I get lots of error messages-like cant find my docs, not authorised to oper this folder, and whena ll these closed and open the desktop folder containting the dnupman -back to invalid file -very confused!!
Ok you will need WinRar to extract the Dnupman softwa*e Have you download that also in the Eko's site ?
