Hey all, Just got a eurovox max there yesterday. It's supposedly flashed with the newest software. However, when I started it up, I only got certain channels. It's picking up the likes of sky sports 1, news and x (but not two or three) and setanta but its not picking up RTE, BBC, ITV, Channel 4 etc. About 20 of the channels are coming up as 'tvch1, tvch2 etc' I've tried everything to get them working right. Was onto my mate last night who was saying to restore to factory settings, do a powerscan etc. but still no joy. Anyone here got any ideas? im on NTHell basic in the lucan, Co. Dublin area so im thinking it might be signal issues? Any help would be greatly appreciated because im at my wits end!
Thanks for the replies guys! Karl - yea ive scanned the frequencies and it still only picks up certain channels. The ones that come through fully are picture perfect though! im really confused why the basic bbc ones wont come through but sky and setanta will! EvaStar - To be honest im not that sure what a splitter is? on the loop. I have the cable into RF in and the loop out goes straight into the ANT IN on the television. I know N*L put the cable through the wall, which would only let us run one TV off it. My uncle hooked up this box that would let us run up to 8 off it..is that a booster? excuse my ignorance im not all that technological!
Ok, try unhooking the box your uncle put in and put the feed direct into the box and scan again and see how many channels you get. If you are splitting the signal too many ways without boosting it sufficiently that could be causing your problems.
you will need to get your coaxil from the n@l outlet on the wall and plug it straight into the rf in on the box,its no use scanning if your n@l cable is split 8 way's!
well we only have it split two ways but the box allows for up to 8 to be run off it...i take it this is still causing all the problems for the box? even split only 2 ways?
hey, tried to do that but the main feeds high up in the hallway now. There's no way i could move it down to the box as it's going through the attic! is there nothing else i can do?
where is your main coaxil cable coming from?it usually comes in downstairs at the front of the house.
it was coming into the wall but my uncle changed that and now i can just see it plugged into the uhf port of a labgear distribution box up over the door... he must have taken the cable through the roof somehow :S
