Eurovox max v remote not recognised

i have a max v which wont recognise the remote. so far i have tried swapping the front panel with another max v but its still the same. i have also tried the camera trick to see if the remote is working and it seems ok and even re-flashed it to see if that helps but still no luck. the small reset button on the board had no effect.

could someone help with this please?

 

try flashing with an older fimware..

 

tried 10/4/08 firmware still giving me same problem..
the board looks ok where the front panel ribbon plugs into.

post the link to what firmware you used.

 

i used the firmware 30/11/08 Nov fix from Eamos library, also reverted back to the April update 10/4/08, with both the remote does not work with the box. i can change the channels and volume from the box itself but not from the remote.
i have tried jtaggin it to see if that would help and still its the same..do you think it could be something like dry solder joints...?

 

Have you tried the reset button on the board.

 

yes i have HiTeck, that had no effect on it all.

 

Strange one, you sure the remote is working, can you try it on another box?

Do a factory default before flashing.

 

im really scratching my head HiTeck, remote works fine with another box, will give this fw a try, let you know how it goes.

Have a similar problem, reflased Friday evening with UFL_MAX_V_5_12_08 and all worked fine. Remote has now stopped working. Box works from front panel but the remote will togle through the favourites menus only.

Basically what ever butto I press on the remote I get Movies, then Sports, then Factual etc.

I was going to reflash but siad I would do a dearch first and found this thread. Is there something else to check in case and can some explain what is meant by "doing a factory default" before flashing.

Have a buddies box to do also and don't want to creat problems for him and have to redo it again.

Have you tried pressing the TV mode button, it seems that you are in FAV mode that's all, press the TV button on the left of the 0 button.

Tried all those - power button does not work. Bascially whatever button I press on the remote just toggles through the favourite list as if you were pressing the favourite.

It is not possible to turn the box on from the remote, only from the front panel. Tried new batteries and remove power to the Eurovox also just to see.

When I saw this thread I was wondring if there is a bug or hardware conflict so I though I would post here and try a few thing sif it helps out anyone else. I think it was on UFL_EUROVOX_MaxV_Kuro_BETA2org before I flashed it but not 100% and only flashed it as the codes stopped auto updating last week.

Just to add when I did the flash I restored defaults and did a full scan all seemed fine until today. It was fine last night. Apparently what happened today was that herself just turned it on using remote power button and it immeadiately eneterd Favourites.

As I said if I can check anything let me know - if not I will just reflash and see what happens.
