Does anyone have ideas why I am being asked to insert Smart card on on most channels after new set up, it has found 240 channels but keeps asking for a smartcard ?

    HELP PLEASE !

Have you flashed the box at all? press Menu and go across to Config and down to System Information and post what it says. Are you receiving the channels or what?

So far I have done the following:

    PRESS MENU
    GO TO CONFIG
GO TO CLEAR DATA – IF IT ASKSYOU FOR THE PIN PRESS 0000
    SELECT – ERASE ALL CHANNELS
Then it will ask you are you sure so press OK
Then wait a few seconds then press EXIT and EXIT again

What you need to do now is a POWERSCAN.
The following is a step by sep method of carrying it out!

    Press the MENU button
Go to INSTALLATION and arrow right to USER INSTALLATION
Type in your pin (normally 0000)
Press the YELLOW button for POWERSCAN and change the mode to FULL from Normal by arrowing right to reveal FULL
Now press OK, this will begin the BRUTEFORCE POWERSCAN which can take up to 40 minutes, but it is guaranteed to find every single channel on the network in your area.

I now have a list of all the channels but most are asking for a smart card !

How long have you had the box? it definately needs flashing with the latest firmware UFL_MaxV_Kuro3_18_04_08 - you will find it in Eamo's FTA Library at the bottom of my post, but better still click on the link marked Eurovox at the bottom of post and follow the excellent guide by HiTeck, you will also get the firmware there.

The firmware you have is FTA, so it will be of no use to you, and will not unscramble anything, and those words above are standard issue with most suppliers.

Complete guide at the bottom marked Eurovox, and you will have to download Winrar to unzip the firmware - again in the Library okay.

Do I need power cable on the box whilst flashing it ?

Yes, the box needs to be plugged in on on STANDBY whilst you are flashing it, do not interrupt it.
