    Hello Guys,
I am very new to this. I bought this Eurovox V-Max box in April and it worked completely fine in my previous house where I had to keep updating the 54 01 codes all the time. However I have now moved houses and even after putting the codes the picture keeps breaking for every channel and sometimes get no signal displayed on the screen.

After posting this earlier I went to the guy whom I bought this from and he update the box and it works fine at all my friends places apart from mine.

At mine the picture keeps breaking and get a chirping sound all the time and on all the 300 odd channels I get (mostly no signal on the channels)

The frequency keeps fluctuating a lot from say 85 to 3 and back up again. I have tried attenuators, equilizers but nothing worked.
Can please somebody suggest what I need to do to get this working without the picture breaking????

    Thanks in advance.

    Regards.

hi janakt ,take a look at your scart lead and make sure its inserted properly, could also be to do with the scart pins if sound is going,if its working fine in your friends it may also be to do with the strenght of the signal coming into your home,it should work fine if you had it flashed .so just make sure all leads cable's are connected properly.

Ive been having exactly the same problem. (im in the Newcastle area).

tried my box at my mates house and it works fine. tried his box on my connection and had the same problem so its something to do with the connection/signal. tried different cables but it didnt help.

    freeview is killing me :)

I have check everything, the cables are tight. the scart is tight and it works fine while using the original ntl box. I guess the problem is being caused because of the fluctuation but i have no idea how to stabilize it????

Are you using splitters? if so try without them and see if that fixes your problem.

There are no splitters. Its connected straight to the cable coming in my house and still the same problem. Is there any reason why it would keep fluctuating? In my previous house it never used to fluctuate and it used to work fine while in this house every time it fluctuates the picture cracks and get the chirping sound. gets worse at the evening/night time.

Had this problem for months, v****n are replacing servers, and frequenciies to accomodate all other cable providers on their network for the imminant introduction of IPTV by end of year. Sorry not a lot you can do about it, it will be like that most of the time on and off until they have finished in your area. They only thing that can ease it is to drop the signal strenth to 73% with a variable attenuator from B&Q it works for me until it gets annoying then i switch to sat. Live with it until they have finished thats all you can do.
