Had the new Eurovox PVR 5000 for 2 weeks and installed all the new firmware and still have the problem, when switching the Eurovox PVR from standby tends freeze up with a picture on the TV No Signal. The remote control will not switch as this is locked as well. The only cure is switch it off and on at the back of the box.I would be grateful if someone as any knowledge of this problem so I can determine is the box is faulty or just early teething problems of the New Eurovox 5000

Do you have a Hard Drive installed in the unit? This used to happen to me when I had no HDD.

Yes flashed the Eurovox PVR new firmware with the hard drive installed, even took it back to factory defaults then flashed it again. It sounds as there is crackling noise when you switch the box on from stanby as if the box cannot connect to the cable signal.Rang the supplier and he said a few others have rang him with the same problem and that the may a firmware update to solve it.To me it sounds like a faulty box becuase everyone would have this problem and not just a few

There is a 'make me dead' button on the PVR remote, don't ask me why but:
Press Aux = Kills remote : Press STB = Brings back remote.
    Try it.

Your TV cable goes in to Cable 1 Input (top right of the four sockets that are together).
The loop cable goes between Cable loop 1 output (top Left) and Cable 2 input (Bottom right)

I have a ex5000 and that freezes up after been left on standby at night too!
Simply turn off & on at the power switch on the back and this resets the box.
Can be a bit of a pain but works.
Im leaving a big green footprint, leaving it turned on all night. lol
