When i bought the pvr 5000, i thought it said that you could watch one channel and record another. I thought i tested it when it came and it did. But now it won't. Am i right in thinking this. Also FIVER channel is always scrambled but yet its a free channel. I am in sheffield, uk. Is there a different frequency that i can use. Cheers Jeffhead
You can record 1 channel and watch another providing they are on the same transponder so limited in comparison to a dual tuner. As for Fiver on the Scrambled channel press info twice, take a note of the freqs it will show at the top left hand side. Now go to Menu, Installation, press OK on User Installation, Enter pin 0000, Highlight the Freqs you noted before by pulling down on your remote then press OK so a tick appears at the side then press manual scan which is the "blue button". Leave it to scan usually takes around 20 seconds then exit back to bad channel.
Transponders/Frequencies, On some Transponders you may get 10 to 15 channels on others you may get 2, say if your using the transponder that has 15 channels you will be able to record 1 of them and watch one of the other 14. I hope that clears it up for you.
