Hi All, Im a non techie so reading my mail may sound very amateur to you professionals – I apologise for the basic level of detail. Im having difficulties flashing the PVR - I have successfully connecting the PVR to the Laptop using a “USB to Serial Modem Cable, Eurovox Upgrade lead” and then run the ‘UFL_ex5000 1.1a’ file. When the firmware download pop-up box appears and I connect to COM1 and press “Download”, a message says “waiting for response for receiver” – that’s as far as I get…. I have waited and waited and nothing happens – Am I doing something wrong? Also, the cable lead does not fit into the back of the PVR – Im assuming I need to kind of RF adaptor, although not sure which one! Please help. Again, I apologise if these are basic questions – but I just don’t have a clue. Thanks in advance.
Have you installed the Driver for the USB adaptor? when you say your using a USB to Serial Modem Cable, is it like THIS CLICK HERE to view the type connector you need. you should have got one with the box if bought new.
Hi HiTech, Yes, the USB to Serial Modem Cable looks the same - however I have not installed the driver (it never came with one!) Thanks for info re the connectors - I did buy the box from new, however these were not present. Thanks again.
You can get the drivers here http://www.gilsson.com/usb_drivers_download.htm on the same website there is info also how to set the adaptor up. Good luck. EDIT; when i got my box "yesterday" it was already pluged into the back of the box, you sure its not there.
I managed to flash the UV PVR yesterday evening (thanks for your help with the software), however the F-Coax Adaptor does not fit into the "RF IN" at the back of the UV. Do you know where I can get the correct adaptor that fits both the cable lead and the "RF IN" port? Ive looked at screwf1x and it could be one of any.... I will get this box up and running if it kills me! Sprry for all the questions.
