Eurovox PVR Problems

    Hi guys, Ive recently bought the EV EX5000 PVR and am stil yet to get up and running.
    I have flashed my box with 1.1a firmware but when the box is turned on it says "no or bad signal"

    There was one time when i had all the channels working fine. every channel. then while i was watchin it the screen went blank and it said "no or bad signal" now none of the channels have got a signal again.

    Is it possible to have a too strong signal? as im reall close to the green box in the street.

    My VM box workes fine and i get all the basic channels fine.

    Any help or advice would be amazing otherwise im going to end up selling this box.

    Ok I see you have recently bought this box, when you scanned for channels which symbol rate did you select once you scanned for channels?

    also with your reply can you tell me where abouts you are and who is your provider, NOT Vm previous to them eg Telepest,Ntl,C+w.

    Thanks for getting back to me HiTech,

    The SR i use is 6952, but i have scanned all SRs and this is the only one i pick channels up on.
    I live in the merseyside area (ellesmere Port to be exact)
    and it would of been N!L in the old days but ive only just had the line fitted by VM in the last month.

    Try a factory setting and delete all ch@nnels then you need to set the start frequency to 162.00 and the end frequency to 866.00 then set the symbol rate 6887 ex N*L

    When i first got the box i tried all 3 symbol rates and got nothing, then i tried a factory reset with all 3 SRs and got nothing again.

    this was before i put the 1.1a firmware on.

    Im really stumped by it, i cant understand it and i dont think anyone else can as ive not had many replies.

    ok without staing the obvious have you got your coaxil plugged into the rf in on the box?and is your scart firmly fixed into the tv scart on the box?

    Haha, yeh all the connections have been tripple checked like i said i had all the channels for a short period of time but then they went and it said "No or bad signal"

    haha, yeh ive not even had it a month, my Vbox is fine and i get all the channels with that no problem

    ok i no your having a bad day as it is lol,alls i can think off is a factory reset and a rescan and see if that helps,before you sell wait till sc0ucer comes along and he may be of more help.

    Do you know when he will be on??
    Ive tried the factory reset, ive even bought a booster and still have no joy.

    ITS DOIN MY HEAD IN!! ALL I WANT IS FREE TV!!!

    Ive tried flashing it in order... 1.1... no joy, then 1.1a an still no joy.
    what made it worse is the fact it teased me by giving me the channels. i was happy watchin sky sports 1 and then it just went off!!

    Is the feed split?

    Its split from the main feed into the box and to the modem for internet. but every time ive scanned ive tried it direct from the main feed with no splits

    maybe your right about the signal, as i said sc0ucer will be of more help sorry i cant help you find a solution

    When you had all the channel before was that on another box and if so for that box what symbol rate did you use to scan with? looking throught the area codes I see it as 6952 ex TW.

    When your scaning for channels where you enter the symbol rate make sure you enter it in each column exactly as below,

    [​IMG] make sure step is set to 8.

    I'm unsure if it looks exactly the same on the ex5000 but probably very similar.

    You can also have too stronger signal, if so you would need to buy a antenuator, what is your signal strenth?

    I am in and out tonight due to family issue's so may not reply this evening but it will help to rule things out.
