Hello people. Just got a Eurovox PVR EX5000 for my brother without a hard drive. Just wondering if anyone has this already and has used the recording function. If so, can we have a discussion about: - what the quality is like of the recording? - Can you put any laptop HD into it? Will FAT32 drive work on it? - Has anyone yet transferred their recordings to their PC? It DOES say on the buying site that you CAN transfer your recordings to your PC. just want to know cos I want to get a TV recorder so if this PVR has good quality recordings then Id buy one too
Hi I just bought one a few days ago the quality is perfect no different to what you recorded off the tv I have a 120gb seagate in mine which was recommended apparently its best not to go above this !!! also another recommended is western digital which works fine aswell but again not recommended to use larger than 120gb i have not transferred to the pc yet though as the files are not the same format but i think they will sort that soon i hope !!! anyways hope this helped a bit follow this link and you should get some more awnsers there as sc0user seems to be main man for all the info also dolphin http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/2/675493 cheers
Hey thanks for the response. Glad that its perfect quality mate ... The box looks so good!!! You know with the Seagate ... I can get one with the box thts pre-installed ... but if you get one from a shop or something brand new ... is it just a case of putting it in? Does it matter if its FAT32 or the other one erm NTSC?? You dont have to like format it or something do you? thanks for your reply I soooo want one now lol
if you can, get one pre installed your better off i reckon, mine came with the box but it wasnt pre-installed although its juat a matter off putting it in there is nothing to it at all and no you dont have to format it at all it just slots into place
Nice one!! Just that I read some readers have had difficulty. Sorry to be a pain ... last question promise lol You know when you put your HD into the PVR .. does the PVR have to be switched off? and also do you have to flash it or is it LITERALLY just pop the HD into the PVR and it will automatically kinda 'sync'
its no problem mate yes have it switched off just to be safe boss and no once you flashed it originally it does not need to be flashed again just pop it in and you should be all set to go it tends to heat up with the hd installed so just make sure you dont cover the vents on top or anything ya know
i have one as well but when im recording a channel it will only let me watch 5-10 channels....... do anyone know if theres any way of fixing this or if ye are having d same problem please let me know???
No mate didnt manage to get it going, I'm gonna go in the starview thread in 30 mins, just om my way out to the shops.
