Hi. Try to install the firmware manually using a rs232 null modem cable. The instructions and software can be found below.

Information For Owners Of The Eurovox Quantum Satellite Receiver.
    Package Feature - beta

The latest firmware for download online contains a new feature we are currently developing. It is the PACKAGE BUTTON. When in the channel list you can press BLUE for Package. This then lists the channels in Package order on the left. Then on the right it conveniently lists all the channels grouped together that form that package.

Also, channels that the Quantum currently clears receive a red heart icon next to them permanently, whenever a channel has been successfully cleared. This means it is now very easy to find the channels you want.

Because this new feature uses a different database to handle the channel data, your old channel data will not work, so you will have to do a Factory Default and rescan your channels back in.

The latest software WITHOUT this feature is attached to this email, along with the latest flash loader program. This is so that people who do not want to use the package function (and still want to use their old channel data file) can still have the latest software. Therefore the package software is currently only available as a LAN update online.

You can also use the flash loader program (STBM) to arrange the channels into your favourite groups by dragging and dropping. Please see the attached pdf document for instructions on how to use the STBM program.

sounds good however to do a factory reset you need access to the meun via the remote control. The remote has no effect on the box loading the software has stop the box beening stuck in 'boot changing to 8888 after some time' the box displays when switch on. boot - helo channel number 0001 which when changed by the front control goes to 0002 if ch 'up' pressed and 1112 if ch 'down' pressed on the 'tv picture' displays
a bar long the bottom with 'foreign looking letters' aioo (channel number 1 to 596) uab to and aioo (channel number 597 to 1112) cjua asea long with time. is the box dead or can i not see the 'wood for the trees'

This box is probably one of the worst on the market and at a euro cost of €150 they cannot possibly justify that price.

I have 3 satellite dishes at our place in Wexford. At that site I am using a Fortec bought last year from Maplin's for €50 and is an excellent system at the price. I have also bought 2 Silvercrest SL65 systems from LLyds at €80 euro which came with 80cm dishes and all the gear including satellite finder and well explained glossy instruction manuals.
On the Silvercrest if I move the disk to the left to pick up the German channels it will only display the channels it has picked up and when you move the dish back to the English channels only the English channels will be displayed. This is handy as I have a switch that allows me to quickly move from one dish to another to pick up wanted channels. All this for €80

Now this "new" Eurovox. Last weekend in Wexford when I had it set up the picture would freeze, however, I waited until I got home and tried it on the dishes at home and exactly the same thing is happening. I do not want to move the dish in case I lose the English channels as it was hard enough to get the English channels in the first place.

I have reset the Eurovox to factory setting and did a full multi-scan and also carried out a lengthy manual scan and have found not only some of the channels are not picked up as with the Fortec and Silver Crest Receivers. I really cannot see how they justify £114 sterling for this box. I am really disappointed as with the high price and the satisfaction of the cable boxes I would have thought there was something extra I would find. Even their instruction manual is only a copy from a paper copier and very un-professional and not user friendly. Also when you want to minimize the picture the details are hiding the picture behind it. On both the Silvercrest and the Fortec system the details and picture are side by side for easy viewing

The name Eurovox has nothing to do with all other Eurovox STBs and so I wouldnt even mention that name when referring to this box which is essentially a linux clone.

    Hi

I have a Quantum which I just bought. At its price it has to do something a little more than a load of free stations that can be picked up with receivers one third the price.

Can anyone tell me if they have one, what did they find special? Also no matter what satellite I tune the Quantum to the picture keeps freezing and will not respond to the remote control. The only solution is to pull out the plug and reboot.

Can anyone direct me to where I can get information on upgrading the software. I am trying everything before I ask them to ake it back and I will lose money if they have to have it back.

I hope someone out ther has a positive reply.
