Hi out their, totally new to this. I have 2008maxv model-dvb-xc boxV tda S/W -1.0 STC4 Sep 06 2007 H/W Ver-2.0t K5 bootstrap-v001 I have a laptop with xp and have the usb and null modem cable. I have downloaded what assume is the correct firmware to update my box ufl max3 kuro3 10-4-08rar When first connect to the box every thing is recognised i uploade my channels to edf and start download, the box reads d/load but the prog sits at0% for ever. When i try again the com port flashes 2/3 and awaiting reciever recognition.I've checked my admin and com port 3 is dedicated to my usb. I've read all your threads and can't see anyone having a similar problem
The firmware you have quoted is a slightly earlier one, you need the 18 th April version, you will find it in Eamo's FTA library at the bottom of post, also your problem seems to be that you have not assigned the USB adaptor to the correct COMM port, go to the link marked Eurovox and follow the guide courtesy of HiTeck also at the bottom.
Hi Malci, thanks for reply. The usb came with software and has been allocated to comm port 2.Ihave tried allocating other ports with same results even after downloading kuro 18-4-08.The usb came with an unmarked null modem cable which i replaced with the recommended L71BT. My box works great whith every conceiveable channel,it's just the code updates that can be a pain. I've read most of the threads re diconnecting the box hitting download and reconnecting with the same 0% status.
Don't know whether we are talking at cross purposes here, so I am presuming that you are still having trouble in flashing the box with the A/Udate firmware, and you have definately got the correct NULL MODEM lead, so it is the USB Adaptor that is causing you the trouble, it is not being recognised. Is there any chance of you getting to a friend who has a standalone PC with the correct 9 pin port, that is your best bet, you will get it done first time of trying, the USB Adaptors seem to cause a lot of problems if it is not assigned correctly - I am not doubting you when you say that you have it assigned to COMM port 2, but that is your problem for sure.
Thanks again Malci, Could have a problem with the stand alone computer, most of my friends have laptops. My wife has vista and can't get it to download on that either.Wonder if I could try buying a different manufacturer's usb adapter?Have already changed the cable to Maplin L718T 9 pin null modem.
