I downloaded an AVI yesterday that plays fine on my computer using Windows Media Player. However, when I burn the AVI to a DVD and play it in my standalone player (Philips DVP 630), everyone's face is completely blue (like a Smurf!). Can someone tell me what the problem would be? Is it a shortcoming of my player? I checked the site where I downloaded it from and no one else seems to be having the same problem.

    Thanks.

Usually means that the chroma channels (U and V) have been swapped. Definatly the player I would say. Only other case I had seen the poster said that re-encoding didn't help, but that splitting the file into smaller chunks got it to work. I would have thought maybe some kind of colour range issue, but that wouldn't explain why splitting would help.
