hey, im new to this whole mod thing. i just put a X-ecuter 2 lite in my Xbox (version 1.0). i got the Evox dashboard (v. 1.8.458) I used nero to burn the EvolutionX V1.8.458.iso file onto a CD-RW. I put the disk into my xbox but it wont read it. what am i doing wrong?
the cd-rw you used, was it brand new or had it been used before? if it was used before, do a full erase/format of the disc and then try to reburn the iso file. i had a few probs with that with dvd+rw and a cd-rws, let me know what happens.. peace seamonkey420
you should be able to just burn the iso file to a blank cd-rw. hmm.. i would try to open up the iso file with XDFSreader and then extract the files ot a new folder on your pc and then make a new xiso of the files we saved to the new folder. see if that works.. peace seamonkey420
hey skilletz7, if this copy that you made is correct and in the iso form, this is what you have to do to load evloutionx to your new x-box harddrive. open the try and load the disk in and shut down the sytem, now turn on the x-box , and the cd should load right up on to the evloution menu. well good luck
depending on which modchip you might be able to boox evox off the hard drive and still maintain the default xboxdash.mbe I have a Xecuter2 lite and it automagically looks for a evoXdash.mbe in the root of C: and loads it if it finds it. this is especially helpful if you upgrade the hard drive or play gamed off the hard drive so that you can just edit your evox.ini on the hard drive and don't have to use a CDr every time you want to make a change to evox.ini
i download the evox 2.6 bios for matrix modchip for a v1.0 console. the file is in binary form, do i have to convert it with xiso or some other utility to make it bootable on the xbox? PLEASE help!!! procedure would be appreciated along with software needed!!!
You are confusing two different things: EvoX BIOS == The BIOS you flash on the modchip. It takes over control from the Xbox BIOS and enables you to run unsigned code. EvoX dashboard == It's the one you make the ISO image of and burn on a CD-RW. EvoX dash replaces the original Xbox dashboard (the one you use to adjust settings etc.). If you only wish to boot game backups etc., you don't need the dashboard. Usually the image is used to boot up Xbox so that you can connect to it from a PC using FTP.
no they are not verbatim, and thanks for the clarification katola, i knew i had something twisted around. that simplifies things just a bit. i will try it again, and this time i am looking for the dashboard, got it.
SKILLETZ7 are you burning your iso properly eg. are you burning as an image? using nero 6 i also think alot of cdrw are rubbish it's hard to get the right media some say memorex cdrw are ok do you know what dvd drive you have in your xbox? also it has to be burned very very slow like x1 if you want
