I have been researching and trying and researching some more on various forums for 4 days straight before I decided to post this. I am starting to get pissed. I first tried Kodak media, but then after reading on the site numerous times to use verbatim or TY, I tried verbatim. both are 4.7GB, SL DVD-R. I have also searched for similar error messages and tried any suggestions that were given and here I am. I have tried 2 different movies on both the kodak and verbatim media and tried both on DVD Decrypter and ImgBurn. One movie I had to use DVD Shrink, which went well, and the other one shrinking wasn't necessary. I got the exact same error for everything I have tried - Failed to write sectors 320-351 - no additional sense information available. I just built my computer 4 months ago and this is the first time I have tried to burn anything with the DVD burner (Samsung SH-S203B DVD+-RW, new out of the box) I installed. Everything else works, this was the last thing I had to test. I have a dual boot rig, but am running all of this in XP. I have tried to update the drive firmware, but I get a message saying that it is the most up to date. I have tried downing the burn speeds to 4x as suggested all over the forum. Thanks for the reply, but I have tried it in write mode also and still got the same message. I guess I didn't post the log for that one.
Try Ripping the Movie DVD to your Hard Drive with DVD Fab Decrypter, The Convert it to an ISO With Shrink. Then Use Imgburn in Write Mode to burn it to Blank Verbatin Using a burn spee of 1/2 the rated speed of the Blank disc. Link to free Version of DVD Fab Decrypter is in my signature.
