A lot of questions are being asked about this, as previous bans only affected Xbox Live functionality. This new ban wave also has other negative effects on your console.

And yet, many pages later people are still asking the same questions in that thread. At least in this thread, it's all listed in the first post so people can be clear what happens with a ban. Also, in the ban thread you have people saying "it doesn't corrupt your profile" or "it doesn't affect installs" so the info is contradictory and confusing and it's spread over 30+ pages.

Got ya, so this is kinda a summary or a re-cap ;)

Dont think it will stop the posts though, we still get questions about "If I unplug when i play backup games" or "Can I un ban myself".

Haha, very true mate. The questions never end, but at least we can say "look here!" and point them in the direction of this thread.

Think that's only possible with a Infuctus chip. I know at least one person on here has used that chip to unban themselves, its VERY complicated though

You can dump your 360's NAND before you get banned, then flash it back once you have been banned and it will restore the install to hard drive feature. There are guides out there.

If you go to Xbox-Scene and search for "NAND dump" you will find a couple of guides and threads showing you what to do. There's also an app called "Nand Pro 2.0", if you Google for that. How you do it (or whether it's even possible) seems to depend on which hardware revision your 360 is, although I know virtually nothing about this and have only had a quick scan of a guide on Xbox-Scene. The one I looked at involved soldering and looked very complicated, so I decided to give it a miss. lol.

Hey guys I think I may have found a way to uncorrupt your game saves. My friend tried it last night and said it worked. First you need an unbanned 360. Next slap your"corrupted hard drive" on the unbanned 360. Now delete your gamer profile,BUT be sure to select just to delete the profile and keep everything that is attached to it. Once this is done sign on xbox live and recover the gamertag you just deleted. Once this is done all your gamesaves should be in perfect working condition.

I can't say myself if this works but my friend did it last night and said it worked.

    Quik question.

Only people who have fifa 10 will know this.

So I have my virtual pro, now what's the best way so I can bring him over to my new not modden/banned xbox?

Btw. I'm not even sure if it's possible.

Great information. Except I can't watch any movies or videos on my xbox, says media update is required except I obviously can't download any updates.

This happens if you switch consoles after downloading the update. The update is protected by DRM just like XBLA games. If you switch consoles after downloading it, it will only work when you're connected to Live with the gamertag that downloaded it. If you're banned, there's nothing you can do about this.

One quick question. Can someone answer it straight and clear. If your console is banned can you still play games offline and SAVE YOUR GAME (not install the game on the HDD, just save your game (like position in say fallout)) and come back later and actually load your saved game or does that get corrupted? all of this is on the one banned console not trying to swap the HDD over to a non banned on...
    Cheers
