after mastering psp hack/modding, i have decided to join the 360 mod world. I took my 360 to get modded, (which was a tough choice, but they have done many friends consoles and no problems) and the put in a samsung NME chip. They said their test games worked great, and i took it home happy. My problem is, none of my backups are working. I have a gta4 backup iso (stealth, ss). I have run them through the nme converter too, and says it checks out. i burn onto verbatim DL using imgburn, (also used clonecd and xbox backup) using dvdrom booktype, 2.4x, and the correct layer break, after selecting the .dvd file. everything burns great, and then it goes into the 360, and "please insert this disk into a xbox 360 console"... I've tried about 16 disks, all coasters. I've looked into many a forum too. I also tried different backed up games, like RB6 V2, and frontlines, and COD4. no luck. If someone could point out any flaws in the process, or even point me to somthing that could guide me. I am fairly good with this stuff, but am completely stumped. Does it still read reg games?Also maybe the chip came loose, Is there a light on the chip anywhere that you can tell if it's booting up?I've had a few chips come loose over time from moving around.I wouldn't waste anymore Disk onit i'd take it back to whoever installed the chip and have them show you inperson it reading a backup.And hopefully they dont try to say your laser is bad in charge you a new one.More than likely something came loose i'd say.
is there some special way to turn on the chip? eg: hold power button for a few secs. nme flash on the fly or something i think. Double check your games are the right region ect. Make sure u dont have a lite-on which looks like a benq. Best bet is to take it back i would suggest. Why didnt you just flash the firmware?
Thanks... I didnt flash the firmware because unfortunatly i didnt know there was a difference between mod/firmware hack. Im in it now, so i will take advantage until a problem comes up. They did say that "we experianced skipping in the test disk, your laser is probably on its way out", but i said close it up, i'll take my chances. Yes, it reads real copies 100% fine, and i have live and a full function 360. Theres no external light, or way to tell its not a normal xbox. I'd be tempted to say i got ripped off, but this company has done too much good work. I will take it back, but they are very picky about saying ANYTHING about burning, or backedup games, they just do the chips. thanks again!
