can anyone tell me how my sumsung DL dvd burner decided to smash a cd wile it was inside it. ( i know i didnt do anyting wrong)
What speed was the drive at? Maybe the disc was not designed to withold a speed that fast. Look for disc that match your speed, like 2x, 4x, 8x etc...
Are you sure that the disc wasn't cracked or somehow damaged beforehand? I've seen crapola discs that had started to split (delaminate) and I'm sure that they would have exploded if I hadn't seen the damage!
i tink i found out wat had happened, i had left the disk on top of my extenal HDD wich has the tendancy of charging anyting trough electrostatic discharge. wen the cd was placed in the drive and the metal of the drive motor touched the disk it must have discharged and jamed the speed control circuits inside the drive. Then by centrifugal force due to excessive spinning the disk smashed. Bleh physics in action
