Hey all, Just got two new drives, a Plextor PX-740A and a BenQ DW1655. The problem I have is that the tower I have only supports 2 5.25 drives and I didn't want these drives to be doing most of the reading and ripping. I was wondering if anyone is using an external DVD-ROM drive to read/rip and if they've had any issues making backups with this method.

Cool. Is the burner you have originally an external or an internal in an enclosure? Are you running USB or Firewire?

Can you back up / decrypt from a external dvd rom strait to a internal dvd burner ? or will it have to be stored to the harddrive first?

Sorry , i know this is a dumb question but can someone answer it.
    Thanks
