Do many people here use an external writer to make their ps2 backups? I'm currently getting about a 50% success rate using good media and at 1x speed. I was just wondering if any other peeps were having similar problems, if so, it might be time to upgrade again!!
i have not heard many good things about them when it comes to backing up PS2 games. I would upgrade to an internal drive.
Sony DRU-720A Great burner, can burn any media including dual layer (DVD9) check out the specs and read the reviews. You can spend less but this is one bad mamma jamma! http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Sony...sem/rpsm/oid/116589/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do
Bargain! i'm from the u.k, and i spent £90 on an external burner, and that's cheap for over here!! the only thing is i'm always on the move, so for the most part i use a laptop. I'm at university with a year to go on a computer games course, so i've got no money!!
I got Freecom External DVD Writer, works great. External costs more but easy to install, all you gota do is plug it in.
I have an external driver, it's a plextor px-716uf (look in sig.) so far it works great, even though it was $200, I have made about 20 back-ups with no problems yet.
i've got the freecom one too. it's probably a media issue, but i even had some problems with sony discs?
I havnt tried sony disks, I use Maxell DVD-R and they work good so no need to change. Only cost me £70 & I have seen it for around £120 in some shops.
Hi ppl, I have recently purchased a Sony 28u oem dvd writer along with an external usb 2.0 cassing. On using the product with my laptop, the general dvd writing is taking really long. the estimated time for writing a 4.0gb disk is about 16 hours. please suggest what i do, cheers bigsidd
