    Hello,

I have a WD external hard drive that I used to create a recovery back up for on a new laptop I just bought. I did not know that if I used this external HD then it would not allow me to use this external HD anymore. When I plug it into a computer I cannot see any of the files I have on the HD anymore. It only shows as a recovery drive. Does anyone know how I can recover the files or change the it from a recovery drive back to the normal mode? Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

format the sucker, create 2 partitions, 1 for your back up and one for your other stuff,

Give a try to a third party data recovery tool to recover your data from external hard drive. I saw Remo Recover tool on internet and after reading its features, I think it may help you.
