external hard drive issues

    »trying to backup with an external hard drive. Get error message says: The backup could not start due to an internal error. Server execution failed (0x80080005). Check Systems Configurations and try again. I cannot see the external drive on my computer.
    Where do I go to check Systems Configurations.
