External hard drive need help

    Hey guys,
    Ive got a Western Digital My passport studio and require help with the fire wire. Connecting it Via USB works perfectly however via fire wire does not the external hard drive does not even power up when i plug it in
    please help me

    if powers up thru usb but not firewire then possible problem with firewire circuit in external drive. try on another pc to confirm that.

    thanks for the reply i have tried connecting the external drive to another pc still nothing.
