external HD use with xbox360

    I have a 500 gig Seagate Free Agent USB 2.0 hard drive. I have plugged the hard drive into the xbox usb port but the xbox does not recognize it in the menu. Can someone please tell me how I can make the xbox recognize my external hard drive?

    I believe you must convert the file system to FAT32.... which is stupid to do.

    A better solution is to hook the HDD up to your desktop or laptop PC and share the HDD over the LAN.
