    Hey everybody,

New kid on the block. I'm manipulating huge audio files and am looking to expand my 4-drive SSD Crucial C300 RAID array. I just purchased a RocketRaid 2744 raid card capable of up to 16 drives. It has 4 mini-SAS external connectors. Right now I'm running the cables into another PC case with the drives and a separate power supply. My first question is "Is this safe?" and my second question is "Where can I get a reasonable 16-bay external storage array that will maintain Sata iii 6.0 gbps?" I've looked around and am totally confused - JBOD, eSata, USP ... and the like! It seems to me that all I need is a box with bays and a power supply, since all the logic is on the Raid card. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Bruce

dang bruce, im going green with envy here. perhaps it is too soon to find a solutionthat has sata iii, but (1) sas to (many) sata ii adpater are available. buy a raid storage case, itll have all the plugins you need. Raid is probably better than jBod when the drives are all same parameters
