i have a sony camera that writes to mini-dvd disc in 'video' format. this creates bup, ifo, vob files. i just noticed today that i created files of 01.vob (1040384 kb) and 02.vob (355872 kb) are the same video. i thought perhaps one had more resolution or something but the properties listed in windows media player for both are 720X480 4:3, 1.78:1 displayed aspect ratio. why is 1 3 times as big as the other? if i wish to merge many video files into a family movie should i use the larger? thanks. jim
Are you sure 02.vob is not a continuation of 01 ? By convention, the vob's have a max size of 1GB, then more are created as necessary, with consecutive numbers.
nope, just checked, files start w/ same stuff. moved wmp from begin to end and see same stuff. 12/26/2009 02:24 12,288 VIDEO_TS.BUP 12/26/2009 02:24 12,288 VIDEO_TS.IFO 12/26/2009 02:24 73,728 VIDEO_TS.VOB 12/26/2009 02:23 34,816 VTS_01_0.BUP 12/26/2009 02:23 34,816 VTS_01_0.IFO 12/25/2009 01:30 1,065,353,216 VTS_01_1.VOB 12/25/2009 01:30 359,989,248 VTS_01_2.VOB
