extract audio from a dv-avi file

    Hi
    How can i extract only the audio track from a dv-avi?
    I used windows movie maker to transfer the movie from my cam to the pc in dv-avi format but now i don't know how to extract the audio track.
    Thanks

    You can download VirtualDubMod here.

    Once you have it running. go to file menu, open video file. Load video. Now go to streams menu, stream list. You will see the audio layer of the video. Click demux and save. This will result in uncompressed PCM wave file.

    [bold]Note:[/bold] If you receive a warning message regarding not being able to open type-1 video, you will need to convert the video to type-2 DV-AVI. Download this program here.

    Check to make sure the video came out alright after converting the video.
