Hi, Sorry if this doesn't fit here or anywhere, hahaha... If you can lead me to the place where I can ask this, please don't hesitate to tell me. I had a MPEG2 file (filmed and edited by me) and I separated the streams (only way I found in the time) by using MKVTOOLNIX. For this, I first opened the .MPG file with SoundForge so I could turn the sound into MONO (I needed to do this) and I exported the .MP3 file. To join the new .MP3 file and erase the previous STEREO one I used MKVTOOLNIX, merge. I opened the .MPG file (with both video and STEREO streams) and then I marked the video stream and added the new .MP3 mono stream and marked it too, not marking the stereo one. So after, I got this new .MKV file with the video stream and the only MONO sound. When muxing I got the message "1024 Kb or b will be skipped..." or something like that, that didn't affect anything because right now the .MKV file is PERFECTLY synchronized with the mono sound it has inside... Now the problem is... I want to EXTRACT the .MPG video stream and the .MP3 files so I can burn them into DVDs. I use TSMUXER, MKVextract (all versions) but I ALWAYS, ALWAYS get the video stream WRONG. What do I mean? The lenght is 17 minutes and when extracted is only 10 minutes and has many errors inside. I read in the internet that this has to do with the FPS and extract and others give this problems, etc... But I can't find a solution to this. Which would be perfect is to be able to extract the sources with their original FPS and stuff... How can I do this? Is there any way to recover this .MKV encapsuled files without ruining them? What program do I use, buy... Please! I really need to recover these streams to get them burned into DVDs without having to mux them again or convert them (I can't lose any more quality! I lost a lot already when rendering, etc...) Thanks so much!
Thanks, I'll try that! Anyway, does anybody know an easy-to-use converter that doesn't do any quality loss to the file? I got "total video converter" today and converted to MPEG2 without any apparent quality loss by setting some things in the properties... But I'm not 100% sure.
Corel DVD Movie Factory is an authoring program that utilizes the MainConcept engine and is fairly easy to use with excellent quality. Decent price right now. ConvertXtoDVD is another tht gave good quality and should be even better with 2 pass encoding now.
