    To All:

I have mpeg2 files I have created from my digital camcorder. I would like to be able to go to a frame and extract as a still, preferably jpeg. I have tried ImageMixer(that came with the camcorder) and Visual Studio 6 but neither will work with mpeg2s. I have tried the Windows Movie Maker that came with my system, it works with mpeg2, but I can't seem to figure out how extract a frame.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to the software I should be looking at?

    thanks in advance,
    E.

Well there are a Few way to go about this that I know of ,One is to use a Software Mpeg2 player Like PowerDVD or WinDVD and navigate to the frame you want to capture and click the "Capture Button and it will save a BMP or Jpg Image file is the Directory set up in the settings...The Other way I have use is to use Tmpgenc and Load in your Mpeg2 File and then go to the "Source Range" and navigate to the frame you want to save and click the "Mark In" and Mark Out" Buttons and then go to "File" to "Output To" to "Image Sequence,BMP,JPG,Tif" and choose the Type of image and a file name and save it and then it a second you will have that frame captured in the Image format of your Choice, I have used Both of these Methods for Grabbing Images I want to use for menu"s when createing DVD"S...There are probably many other ways but this is how I have done it....Cheers
