well he might be right but....when they say discharge yourself they mean...so you wont fry the circuit boards by shoking yourself. You might of not connected your computers Power source back correctly...so try and open it aigian make sure its all connected properly and close it and see what happnes. If nothing works take it too a computer shop to tell you whats wrong with it...how to fix it and so on....Learn from your mistakes.

you may have given the "Main" or "Mother" board a little shock if you had some static electricity in ya. Since it's an old comp why don't you open it back up and re-check everything. make sure that the HDD had power first...after that try to boot it...if nothing look and see if BIOS hasn't been reset to boot from nothing...when I say that I mean get into the BIOS (not sure what comp you playing with so I can't tell you how to get into it) and make sure that it is set to boot from the Local C: ( C is most likely where the windows partition is). After that do as whats his nuts said and make sure power is running..... do you hear noises..? does it make POST beeps (POST: Power On Self Test)? Puters make POST beeps in an effort to tell you they are alive. ummmmm after you test all of that see if the processor is seated properly...(do youself a favor and unplug the machine)...if no avil look at the board...the thing where all the other things ar plugged into (don't mean to condisend but I dont know what you know) and see if the little soda can things have flat tops or rounded tops...if rounded tops get back....well hell if you've read so far test everything I've said and get back.
