Hi everyone i hope u can help.... I have been trailing through the forums here trting to find some information but i keep gettin confused and lost. After a 4 days of trying i really am reaching boiling point so please help!!!! I have downloaded a number of films from some torrent sites but when i try to burn them onto DVD they dont play on a DVD player but do on a PC. they are all in AVI format. I have tried to follow some guides to convert the format but either the the sound or the audio are missing. I have been using CuCusoft converter pro but when i do get a whole film (inc sound/pic) the file size says 2.6GB but when i try to burn using Nero Smartsuite it shows the size being over 4.6GB. Is there a way i can change these AVI films to DVD and be able to get more than one film on a DVD disc? Also my conversion time is bt 35mins but when i used VSO DivxtoDVD it took over 2 hours? does this sound right? Can anyone recomend a simple, fast converter and explain how i can have multiple films on one disc which i can view in a dvd player. I hope someone can help this newest of newbies. Thank you in advance
I use WinAVI for converting my avi files. It is pretty fast. A trial version will not work though as it leaves an ad in the middle. You could also try TMPGEnc. If after you convert, you get .vob, .ifo, & .bup files, then open Nero Burning ROM. Make sure you are in DVD mode and then select DVD Video. Click "new". Drag your files into Nero's VIDEO_TS Folder (the RED one) and burn. If you have multiple movies in .vob format, then you need Nero Vision Express or you need to make sure you convert all the movie clips at once. Check the .vob files before burning using some media player. I use Windows Media Player 6.4 (yes, the old one). I like it much better than the new graphical garbage that seems to crash a lot and hog tons of resources. Also, it seems like the old media player can open more file types. Also, when you burn your movie, make sure you are burning at 4x.
hi for avi / xvids i use either film machine or avi2dvd, pro apps that are free! they have there own enoders but can also use CCE if you have it, these apps will do the lot to dvd files / iso to burn... useing cce the dvd looks like the avi it started with - which is nice as 2 losses or quailty does occur in transition, but these apps are the bomb! but time is a trade off over 2 hours 30mins? for 700meg to dvd (but you wont be dissapionted) fast apps = bad quailty / sound (some ok and will do ok) slow apps are generally best note the old free version of divxtodvd its faster! get at website
downloading films from torrent sites that sir might be illegal... to bad because if it werent i would tell you to use these three easy steps.. 1.get divxtodvd then use the convert method to turn your avi file into a file a dvdplayer can read (mpeg2) 2.next get dvd shrink then use the re author mode to find your avi file that you converted to mpeg2 then save it as a image. 3.get dvd decrypter and burn the image to a standerd dvd disk.. and there u have it play it on your dvd player but you might not have enough tim to enjoy it wit the riaa busting down your door all "cops style"" and sh!t..
hi divxtodvd converts to vobs. dvd shrink wont load an mpeg2 only vobs/ifo/bup files (or iso file of said type files)
