So you've plugged your xbox 360 hard drive directly into your PC's motherboard with a cable, having taken it out of its silver box?

You may think it is ridiculous, because you are looking for the SATA drives in the wrong place. Try looking under disk drives.

Indeedy. That's where they'll be - assuming they're recognised by the BIOS of course.

Hard disks don't need drivers - do they show up in the BIOS?

The attachment, that you showed, in your first post, is for the controllers, not the drives.

Post one for the drives. If there was a problem with them, there would be exclamation marks by them.

one more question... you are connecting them and THEN booting your computer? not booting your computer and then connecting... that could also be your issue...

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I don't think you've done what you think you've done. Can you show us a picture of exactly what you've connected how?

This should be in the xbox360 section where people might have a clue what you were on about.

I think you will find your board has the wrong chipset, but I don't know anything about hitachi sata dvd drives.

Well we can wait for the "have I bricked it" post in a day or two when we find out ;)

My understanding of these things (and I have flashed about 70 samsung drives) is you don't boot windows at all.. you boot from a stick or floppy with ready prepared files on it.

Bah.. the console forums are straying outside the compound fence again...

Indeed, but I don't see what there is to be gained from flashing a 360 drive...

    Playing downloaded games perchance?

Do you want to ask for this to be relocated or should I?
