hi well i am new to sata stuff i got 2 satas integrated into my motherboard and i am trying to flash my xbox 360 hard drive but my satas dont get found it cant find ne connection from the sata to the 360 drive. the sata drives are also labeled SATA0 and SATA1. i also just checked my bios when i tryed to enable them it wouldnt let me it just said unknown device...whats going on here how do i enable em? im running windows xp sp2 home on dell dimension 8300. Here are my drivers Isnt that all i need to be able to read the 360 drive?
So you've plugged your xbox 360 hard drive directly into your PC's motherboard with a cable, having taken it out of its silver box?
yah dude but i dont think thats the problem these sata drives arent even recognizing its ridiculous. EDIT: my bad i meant my hitachi v0078 drivei connected not my harddrive lol
You may think it is ridiculous, because you are looking for the SATA drives in the wrong place. Try looking under disk drives.
dude i did look under disk drives they were turned off but when i turn to auto it says unknown device for both of em and they arent found...i was just showing the devices. ITs really weird i search all over the internet.i cant install drivers either causei dont got a floppy drive.
The attachment, that you showed, in your first post, is for the controllers, not the drives. Post one for the drives. If there was a problem with them, there would be exclamation marks by them.
one more question... you are connecting them and THEN booting your computer? not booting your computer and then connecting... that could also be your issue...
Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I don't think you've done what you think you've done. Can you show us a picture of exactly what you've connected how?
This should be in the xbox360 section where people might have a clue what you were on about. I think you will find your board has the wrong chipset, but I don't know anything about hitachi sata dvd drives.
Well we can wait for the "have I bricked it" post in a day or two when we find out My understanding of these things (and I have flashed about 70 samsung drives) is you don't boot windows at all.. you boot from a stick or floppy with ready prepared files on it. Bah.. the console forums are straying outside the compound fence again...
