For those of us still having a little trouble deciding between the two for our DSL I was hoping to sort out some of the differences. Please add to/correct me where wrong :)

    1. They both fit in the DSL without sticking out (EZIV BARELY sticks out by less than 1mm)

    2. EZIV doesn't have as much homebrew support (yet!)

    3. G6 has onboard 512MB memory, EZIV uses microSD - is this FAT16 or FAT32 formatted??

    4. What types of ROMS do each of these support out-of-box?

    5. Both useable with the latest passme DS card size technology - EZIV may need a firmware update to work with passcard3 and superkey but works immediately with MK4.

    6. Can't find either one of these in stock right now, if you recently bought one please tell me where

    7. EZIV has some issues writing save files, you need to have one already on the card to save over or it may corrupt the microSD. Any G6 issues here?

    1. That's sounds about right.
    2. That too.
    3. EZIV requires FAT16.
    4. Basically whatever the firmware supports at the time, which should be pretty much all DS and GBA.
    5. There are several revisions of the Passcard3 and SuperKey, some of which don't require a firmware update while others do. There isn't an external way of checking the revision, so it's just easier to update to the latest firmware and avoid any hassle.
    6. Winsunx has the EZIV Lite in stock.
    7. The EZIV requires that a placeholder save file be in the SAVER folder on the SD card. This is because the firmware can't create save files itself, only overwrite what's there, which is why it corrupts the card if it can't find it. As long as the EZ Flash client is used, this isn't a problem, especially since you need to use the client to patch the games beforehand anyway.

    3. Are there any special requirements on type of microSD you have to use? Can they all be formatted to FAT16? I see some packages which include an SD reader, will that write to a micrSD also or do I need some type of adaptor?

    4. What about old NES, SNES roms? I believe G6 packaged software includes emulators for these.

    6. It still says pre-order :(

    7. Sounds like the EZIV client takes care of all the issues, does G6 come with a similar client and/or not require rom patching?

3a. As long as it's a quick card, it shouldn't matter what you get.
3b. FAT16 is a file system format, so all cards should be compatible.
3c. Most microSD come with an SD adapter, allowing you to use it with SD compatible products and card readers.

4a. I doubt it. Homebrew is behind on the EZIV, so I doubt any of those emulators work with it right now.
4b. Considering it's from the same team that developed the M3 adapters, I would assume it does.

    6. Bummer. I got an EZIV Lite the day it came out, so I didn't have any issues getting it there.

    7. I would assume G6 has a client designed for it since clean dumps have to be patched before they can be played.
