    This is the important factor

    Media Code RICOHJPN D01

I would characterize them as "OK for movies" priced a little on the high side.

Riteks are less expensive and I have had no problems with them, however, everyone has their preference.

Sorry, no idea, I don't use that brand.

I use Ritek hub printable and pay $27.99 for 100 shipped
I also use Taiyo Yuden Premium hub printable and pay $36.00 for 100 shipped.

My apologies. I don't use much DL.

    Prices above are for SL.

The last DL I bought were Ritek hub printable DL.

    $32.99 for 25 in March.

$19.79 for 25 now. BOO HOO!

So, Meritline has Imation and Verbatim for more, Phillips and Ritek for less.

I have been very happy with these.

I have some RICOHJPN D01 .. crap.. I wouldn't buy them again. around 50% fail on the ones I have bothered to burn from a spool of 25.

Next time I need some (not very often) I will give the riteks a shot.. verbs are waaaaaay to expensive for anything other than 360 disks for sale ;)

It's worth testing a few -- RICOHJPN was once a highly reliable MID, but those days are long gone. Ricoh stamped media can be very hit or miss. I would call it (at best) second to Verbatim -- a far second.

huzzah huzzah !!!- I've had pretty good luck with the ricohs & riteks !!! Though I confess to using more Riteks than Ricoh !!! I did burn through a spindle of 100 Tdk 4 X DVD+R's a while Back!! that were Ricohs and the whole 100 burned well with no problems or visible deffects ! Hovever everyones system & burners are different so my sage or Maybe even Oregano Advice is Find a good Media that your Burner likes and try to stick with it {If Possible} Finances and situation permitting of course ! I somewhat standardized on Verbatims and Sony but I've used other brands in the past Like Taiyo yudens , ect... You can get Valuelines ( Taiyo Yudens for about .23 cents give or take the odd penny here and there so what is the price point were your willing to give up quality ? You might want to go to a two tier system ? Verbatims , Taiyo Yudens & Sony's for yourself !!! and Riteks For giveaways , Family ect ... I know some Will problem condemn me for saying this? Riteks people either swear on them or at them !!! I can only say they've always worked for me in their various guises {Officedepots, Maxell's ect...} but I did say earlier everyones set up is different so what works for me might not for the next person and vice versa? But to each their own I suppose ? Ciao Y'all

Actually these code out as RICOHJPN D01 067. The 067 version makes a big difference.

I'm finding the quality control of these Falcon media to be better than Ritek. I'm experiencing less variation between discs and better scanning results; shoot, I'm not seeing a difference between burning at 4x, 6x or 8x! Your drive makes a difference, the newer the better. I get great results with my SONY/NEC Optiarc7200S, it will burn these DLs at upto 8x speed. For chuckles and grins I dropped one in my Samsung 203B (generally used only for ripping), and in ImgBurn it showed it would burn it @ 16x! Tried it and it even finalized, an approx. 11 minute burn for a DL. Wouldn't scan and didn't try to play it.

The stamper and dye formulation is one thing (MID) but the quality control acceptance parameters for the various companies are another matter. What one company accepts another will reject, and vice-versa.

Also, I've found better deals at SupermediaStore that what is current. Watch for sales.

Again, your burner is the final deciding factor, some will like/love these discs and others will hate it.
