ok i just ran family guy volume 1 disc 1 through rebuilder and used hc encoder. i was going to rip it using nero or folder to iso and then rip with decryptor (r.i.p.) but when i looked at the file size its over 7 gigs how do i compress that without losing quality and did I miss a step where something shouldve done that for me already

I took 13 gigs of south park (almost 3 discs) and compressed it down to 1 single-layer disc w/Shrink - I think it worked because it was animation (crappy animation at that). The same thing might work with Family Guy. In that kind of animation you have big chunks that are all one color, so it's not so complicated for dvd to convey. **I would definitely use deep analysis and AEC, though, for extra quality.

I thought I was in the Shrink forum, does this still help?

open up dvd rebuilder take a look @ your destination/ouput path and make sure you are checking the size of the right file!

the output of hc by default when used w/ rebuilder is to give you a file correctly sized for dvd-5 (4.35GB, roughly)

this file in your output directory should be properly sized and waiting to burn! if not please check your settings under mode and make sure you are not using "no compression mode" and make sure hc is checked!

Any recent version of Nero should back it up. If you're using Nero burning Rom then choose DVD video and then drag the VIDEO_TS file into its red colored counter part in Nero and burn.

in nero under the file name box you will see a window that reads somethink like Nero compilations and images just open the drop down and select all files and your output should be shown

or you could use the drag& drop method as soph suggested
