    It's a silent 3d accelerator heat sink/pipe array. It's sole purpose is to cut down the decibel rating of your computer by replacing the fan on your video card with a fanless solution.

    Whoops, forgot the second part:

    That array isn't for your CPU, but, for your GPU... and yes, you would be required to use thermal paste if you replaced any heat sink.

    Yeah, will it encroach on anything else in the PCI slots above or below it?

    The pictures from the webpage tell me that the card takes the real estate of 1 pci slot below the graphics card.

    Hopefully it will be above, then i can just put my graphics card on the top PCI slot. I have e-mailed the retailers to see if they know.
