    heres my current situation,

HDD1 my main HDD running windows xp sp2
HDD2 my secondary HDD mainly used to store movies, songs, etc but still installed wit windows xp

and today for some weird reason when i restarted my pc, the farstone restore it keeps on freezing at the "creating new restore point 0%" in the beginning, due to the fact that the farstone loads up before windows xp does, it just freezes up my whole comp....

so then i booted up the secondary HDD as my main and successfully entered into windows xp. I tried deleting more stuff on my HDD1 to free up more space hoping that would be enough to create new restore point but then it seems that it isnt the main problem......

So I tried a risky way of doing it and that is to uninstall farstone restore it from my HDD1, like uninstalling it from my HDD2. And i tink i just made it worst since now that i have the program uninstalled but then its still running that startup screen before my windows loads up in my Hdd1

Is there any solutions that i could possibly use to like either shutdown the program at startup??

any solutions would help!! thanks in advance

Since FS Restore It is not on the programs list on your HDD2, you cannot truly uninstall it from HDD1. Deleting the folders from HDD1 from HDD2 may have caused this problem.

One way you may be able to fix your issue:

Boot from HDD1 to Safe Mode. Go into your registry (Start, Run, regedit) and go to HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Currentversion\Run* and remove any entry associated with FS Restore It. You could also do a complete registry search and eliminate all entries you find, but be careful and look closely at those registry settings. After that, you should be able to boot from HDD1 without interference.

    Hope that helps!

    *also see HKEY_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Currentversion\Run

How do you boot it up in Safe mode?

like the first thing that loads up is the farstone restore it screen......and it tells me to press "space" if I want to enter the farstone menu but it doesnt work when i press and it. it then freezes when it says its creating a new restore point. I ran the "uninstall" to uninstall it, i didnt delete the folders and stuff

    thanks in advance

After your initial POST screens are finished, press F8 to boot to Safe Mode. You can also hold down the F8 button during startup.

You'll most likely have to do a System Restore. Put your XP CD in the CD drive, and set your BIOS to boot from the CD.

After you boot from the disk, choose to install XP. Press F8 to accept the EULA, and when you're asked what you wish to do with the "previous" installation, choose Repair.

If that doesn't work, you may need to completely format your drive, and start over.
