    Hi!

I've used various programs to encode my video files, some give out "not in sync" video/audio, some skip chapers and scenes, some programs even convert then when the dvd is playin it freezes upon a certain point in the dvd.

I just want to be able to stick a video file into a program, maybe add chapters (not too bothered about the menu side of things) then let it get converted to dvd format, finally burn it to dvd..

Then relax and watch it without signs of audio/video out to sync or skips inside the video!

Thanks a lot for any help that becomes available to me.

Programs I have tried with no avail:

Super dvd creator although only take 1hr always doesnt work (sync/skips)
Nero express takes too long and sometimes files wont import..

AVI DivX to DVD was lookin good i could add chapters but in the end didnt even convert or burn at all!

Please, help me im stuck! :))

    Dan

You might take a look at TMPGEnc.

Well, TMPG DVD Author lets you add chapters easily with a wizard and it's fairly easy to use.

If you need an encoder I recommend for beginner's only WinAVI and if you want something more professional jump to MainConcept or Canopus (CCE is for someone who knows who's talking 'bout).

Encode your AVI or DivX with the tool to MPEG-2 format. Once encoded import it to the authoring tool and create your chapters at will (even a simple menu if you feel up to).

There are one click tools, such as DivxtoDVD or AVI2DVD which are also good alternatives if you want to go simple

Thanks for both your help, im actually using tmpenc at the moment, but its pretty slow!! :(

AvitoDVD and the other dont work correctly for some reason! They convert the avi to dvd then when the re-muxing stage has completed it fails to burn! The software(s) is great apart from that though, is there any one-click software that adds chapters and creates a dvd image/(dvd video folders).. then ill burn them seperate :)

cheers for your time, i might look into using the other converters, somethin thats faster and doesnt drain up the cpu usage would be good.. any ideas?

    Cheers again

I usually leave the burning alternative off because I prefer to try them first with PowerDVD prior to burning on a disc (which always is a re-recordable one)
