My system is currently FAT32, I want to convert to NTFS. I went to the cmd prompt to convert but I got an error message stating I need to dismount the drive first. What are the chances of me loosing all of my files if I did this??

When it asks you if you want to unmount (not dismount) the drive, say yes!

Anytime you choose to modify a drive's contents, file system, or partitions...you run the risk of losing data. Always backup before you start.
