i'm trying to mod my xbox and have done the hotswap. when using fatxplorer i press read harddisk and it detects the drive then reads it for a few seconds and the program closes by itself. I've also tryed hdd_driver but it wont let me explore the drive just backup or explore and i have to ignore an error. does anyone know whats wrong?
i got to the step of backing up the disk but couldn't open the image due to bad programs. i found a program called hdprepare and used it to edit the hex but i accidently pressed entire drive and cancellled after 10 seconds. now the xbox won't unlock it and it gives an error green/red light so is the hd paperweight?
Tell me the exact steps you're using to back up your drive, as there are many different ways to do it. Did you back up your eeprom?
