I forgot Indiana Jones, which can also be seen as trilogie, alltough it is more like a serie with no end, like James Bond. Still as long as it has three chapters it can be seen as trilogy.

I'm actually just starting with the Godfather trilogy, I like it so far. But I would have to give baabaa kudos for mentioning Thomas Harris, but not with Red Dragon. It was a good remake, but Manhunter (the original) is my favorite of the two.

    No need to apologise............

I find that sometimes if you watch a film, then watch a remake/revamp of it, you compare it to the original flick (using the original flick as the benchmark) and therefore very seldom is better than the original.

But what if you watched them the other way round, would you use the remake as a benchmark instead.....?

I do agree that manhunter did have the edge, but in hindsite - you knew what Red dragon was all about, therefore there were no real surprises.............

Then there is the other, read the book then watch the film - no contest, books (IMO) always generate the atmosphere, something any film version cannot really come close to, as films tend to lead you, but books get you in the environment and totally suck you in......

I did enjoy in either version, that twat from the tattler getting barbecued........nice.......

I love Terminator 1 and 2 but still I haven't listed the Terminator in my trilogy top 10, simply because the third part was such a load of crap that the average of the T movies is much less because of this dumb, unnecasarry installment to the brilliant part 1 and 2 that were ended in the perfect way. Why did James Cameron not direct it? Because the story was allready told. Off course the producers smelled money and as long as Arnold was in it they could score big time. Off course the girl that plays TX is stunning and the special effects are fairly impressive but the film totally lacks the style, humour and plot that made the first two movies work. What a bummer, man.
