Hey dudes, Have owned F.E.A.R for a while - and still haven't played it through mind you, just can't find the time - but there's one thing that irritates me about the game (and it may be my only gripe with the great piece of software, apart from, of course, the heavy hardware requirement!). Has anyone else noticed that the games volume for speech (i.e from your peers through your H.U.D display) - the primary vehicle for driving the games storyline - seems to be quite low compared to the rest of the games audio? I have found this to the point that I'm unable to follow the story coherently, especially when messages are recieved through telephones etc. Having said that is it possible that the audio settings on my PC are causing these problems, or has it been identified as a common flaw among the gaming community? Cheers, feedback appreciated. Tim.
I have played completely through FEAR and have not had any audio problems what-so-ever i would check that little speaker icon in your system tray or if you have a speaker system check the levels of the bass and treble. Treble would in general be voices and talking and bass would be like gunshots and explosions. So a high bass could drown out the voices.
yeah thanks PeaInAPod, i have a logitech system, i'll make a preset to suit the game in the equaliser...
