I'm looking for purchasing a Phillips DVD player. I got few queries, seems many experienced people are here, who can help me out. * Will this DVP642 work in India. * The voltage range is 220-240V in India. If I happen to use a coverter, will it suffice my requirement. * People are telling about upgrading with new firmware softwares. Can any one do this upgration? Hi there! This works in India as well as anywhere. I stay in India and six of my friends in Mumbai are using the Philips DVP642. You don't need any external equipment. I'm not too sure about the exact procedure to upgrade the firmware but I'm told it's pretty easy. All you need to do is burn the firmware on a CD-R/RW and put the disc in the player. The player does the rest. Maybe someone here can post the exact procedure. Ajey
