FIFA 08 Laggy Problem

    I have FIFA 08 for PC and more than enough power to run this program but, whenever I run it, the menu always becomes extremely laggy and slow. However, when I play the game, it becomes extremely fast. Here are my PC specs:

    Motherboard: ASUS Maximus Formula Special Edition
    Sound: Sound FX 2
    Video Card: ASUS EAH3870 512MB
    CPU: Core 2 Quad Q6600 3.01GHZ
    Hard Drive: 500GB 7200RPM
    RAM: 4.0GB
    OS: Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit Edition
    Direct X Version: 10
    Monitor: Acer X223W 1680 x 1050

    Also, the resolution I put on the game is 1600 x 1200. And When I put it at any other resolution, the problem still occurs. Any suggestions?
