Hi all, I only just got a new computer with Windows 7. I use Winamp for my audio files. In Windows XP I customised my audio files to instead of "open with Winamp" to "Enqueue file in Winamp", using the folder options menu. In Windows 7, it seems to be gone. Am I stuck with opening my audio files, or can I change this somehow? Also, I could operate the Windows XP registry. Is the Windows 7 registry similar enough to doctor out a solution in there? Or should it be a no-go zone until I get more experience with the OS? Thanks in advance for your answers!
Never used Winamp but VLC will play your folder - media (upper left) > open folder, perhaps Winamp is similar although W7 won't let you manually sort files unless you rename them, out of the question if there are many files. The same goes for W7 registry as XP, be careful what you delete. A few freebies that are excellent and seem fine are CCleaner, Eusing Free Registry Cleaner and not sure if this link still works but this program (suite) is the best of the bunch, much like Tune Up Utilities, can't remember but may have toolbar in install, no big deal to opt out of and Ashampoo is almost guilty of spam when you register, can opt out of that too: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r25507699-Free-Ashampoo-another-free-giveaway Post back if its expired, it's available at other sites, same with their Burning Studio.
It's not about playing a whole folder. When I double click an mp3, I'd like it to enqueue in the default player (Winamp in this case), instead of playing it directly (because it deletes my playlist and makes a new one of just one file). Winamp seems to support this by itself, yet when I check those option nothing happens. In Windows XP I could use Folder Options to change what happens when I double click an MP3. Oh, I don't need to clean it up, but I browsed about with google and some people think you can sort it out in the reg. If it's the same as XP I can easily enough track down the keys I need and change them, but if the reg is changed with W7 I don't want to go in there and wreck stuff =) In any case, thanks for replying!
