For playback you need a splitter (Haali's can handle mkv and ogm) as well as decoders for the contained streams.

If you have haali's splitter installed, then I guess you are missing some decoder(s). What streams do the files contain?

What are you using as a media player, try something such as BS Player or VLC or maybe Media Player Classic not the windows one its a modified one. WMP can be a bitch sometimes if thats what you are using :)

the player im currently is media player classic also BS player has the same problem and i haven't been able to find out what stream it is (Dont know how to actually). yeah i think the problem is a missing decorder since one of the files gets loaded but there no audio or video but media player classic does say the file is playing

If a file fails to render, MPC lets you know and gives details. If it plays, but is black and silent, then it could be a fake.

It is a dshow splitter for avi, mkv, mp4, ogm and ogg files.

What exactly are you trying to play? an mkv file?
