i had the same problem with nero 7, so i took your advice and started a download of Nero 7.0.8.2 at file hippo and it seems to get to about 40% downloaded and appears to stop? How do i get the download to complete?

Have you uninstalled your other version of Nero? You will also need the clean tools for either version 6 or 7 so that you can remove all traces of Nero. Then download from hippo. You can get the clean tools from Nero website.

Ducky, yes I have followed your instructions, in another post. File hippo just won't download all the way through. Do I need to be a member? I had a older version of nero version 6, i used to have no problems with, then it stopped working so I bought Nero 7 ultra. I installed in on both my computers, and so far it did not work on either. How do I check which version of firmware I have for my Nec burner?

You don't have to be a member and you should run both clean tools for 6 and 7 to make sure its off your computer. It could be conflicting and screws up your digital library. Do not install the version you bought! You can download from file hippo and enter your cd key. Its the full version. Even though its says demo if you enter your key you have it forever. Sounds like there is still traces of nero on your computer if its not downloading. Do another uninstall and run those clean tools. Then download from file hippo. It should work because i had to do the same.

As for you Nec burner I would do a web search on the model of your burner and check to see where the updates would be.

I appreciate all of your help. I ran the clean tool for version 6, and version 7. I started the download from file hippo, and again the download did not complete. I should save the download, not run it correct?
I installed the store bought version of Nero 7 on my game computer and my first burn did not work. I tried Memorex 16x media and the second burn worked. I am making a third burn now and it appears to be working.
I am still confused about my main computer as to why I can't get either version of Nero to work. And I can't seem to get any downloads from file hippo to work. I tried to download Clone CD from file hippo and it would not complete either.

I dont know why you're having problems with File Hippo, I just went to that link and it appeared to be working OK...dont forget to update your firmware from link provided.
BTW..Memorex are a very poor quality media and will cause problems eventually, try using Verbatim or Sony (made in japan) and burn at around 4X

@ducky88, I've been at it for quite some time now, Cheers.
