I have been having problems with ne-naming my files, wenever i rename them a window popups up and says- "warning if you rename this file it may become unstable and unusable are you sure?" and if i do it changes the file from mpeg or any file wether it be a exe or a avi file to a .file and cannot be opened and the icon changes. this has only just started happening recently i was able to rename files before but no i cant.

    Please help me!!!!!

check for spyware with ad-aware se from lavasoft or spybots s&d, check for viruses with your antivirus program or avg7(free version) from www.grisoft.com & do an online scan with www.antivirus.com (free housecall). but cleanout all cookies, windows temp & temporary internet folders & do a scandisk. post results
