I've downloaded my home movies from my digital camcorder to my computer and have excellent quality while the movie is on the computer (8gb = 40 minutes). When I try to drop it onto a dvd, the file size compresses and I lose the quality (2gb = 40 minutes). I'd rather give up disk space for quality. How do I retain the original quality???

    Hi there,

Can you be more specific on what software you are using, and what steps you are using, other than drop it on a DVD ?

If you use software like DVD Shrink, of course you will loose quality.

It's it's 8.00Gb, it should fit on 1 Dual Layer Media, and your quality would still be 100%

Do you have a Dual Layer DVD burner ?

And YES, Dual Layer media are pretty expensive.
    These days, I saw $5.00-$10.00 each !
