Hi, I am told that Nero does not support multi disk backups : I have a very large file that I need to copy/move....May I have your help or suggestions on how I can do this... Thank you ' Gilbert
Hi camper66 Welcome to aD! How large is the file? What type of file is it? Does your drive support writing to DVD's?
do you have a dual layer burner and the associated media as well. Standard size is 4.38gig, dual layer size is 8.4 gig
Hi and thank you very much for your reply, The file is my Outlook PST file that is 990,003KB...and yes one of the computers can write to a DVD Regards, Camper
Hi Camper Almost a gig so here's 2 suggestions: Right click on the .pst - pick send to and choose your dvd drive to write to a dvd. Does the pc that has this file have the dvd writer? Or if by chance you have a 1 gig or more flash stick w/ .98 mb available- transfer with that. Same thing right click .pst send to and pick the flash stick to transfer.
Forgot one - in case this pc doesn't have a dvd writer or no flash stick w/ available space. Create a 2nd .pst. Then move some of the emails/folders to the new .pst - enuf that each .pst can fit to a cd. Then burn each one. You can combine them again if you like once transfered.
Hey D! LOL - I've blown up/locked up my email several times at work w/ large personal folders - this is the trick I do to get it working again
@camper66 You can also use WinRAR to create a file using "split archive" to break it into smaller files which can later be pieced back together. [/bold]
Thank you very much all guys... for the moment I have chosen to write the file to a dvd. Ideally allowing a multi-cd feature in a future Nero would have been perfect. thnx
